TERMS & CONDITIONS
Thank You for choosing Shapeshift! Please read through the terms of service below.
Deposit
20% deposit is required to secure your date. You have 24 hours to pay your deposit. After this time, if deposit has not been paid, the booking becomes available to the public.
Your deposit covers admin costs and secures your date from being booked by anyone else. For this reason, your deposit is non-refundable.
Booking information
All bookings must be accurate. Please do not provide false information such as a different address, incorrect number of clients, incorrect occasion ie: you are getting married but chosen "going out makeup". Should such instances occur, your booking will be cancelled with no option of refund or reschedule. Makeup bookings are priced accordingly to the service you receive.
Bookings confirmed via email are a binding contract
Bookings made over the phone need to respond in writing to confirm all details are correct.
Your artist usually wears black uniform, if you have a colour preference or dress code, please inform us at the earliest opportunity.
Early start/ timings
Your artist will require full information regarding your appointment including what time you need to leave. Please be aware that your artist will establish the adequate amount of time to suit you and your party size. Certain factors such as travelling distance, party size and leaving times may contribute to an early start. An early start is considered an arrival before 8am or a travelling distance where the artist has to set off before 7am, in this case an additional fee may be applied.
Cancellations
You are well within your rights to cancel at any time of booking. We understand that plans & circumstances change. However, due to the nature of the services we provide, where other work is turned away to accommodate your appointment, refunds are not given. We charge a 20% deposit upon booking which covers cancellations up to 7 days ahead of your date.
Cancellations made within 7 days of your appointment will be charged in full to cover overheads such as the artists wage, website fees, insurance, cleaning, administration and solely committing to one booking that day which we will no longer be able to fulfil.
Payment
Payment can be made either by cash or bank transfer to our business account.
Deposits are to be paid upon booking, the remaining balance is due 7 days prior to your appointment. If you prefer to pay cash, this must be arranged in writing and the balance cleared prior to your appointment. Unpaid bookings will result in cancellation.
Products
We only use high end and high performing products on our clients. Each item within the artists kit has been researched, tried and tested to ensure the best quality is supplied. All makeup items are created by well known makeup artists around the world such as Armani, MAC, Charlotte Tilbury and Estee Lauder. All products are FDA approved and we supply a complete range of vegan and cruelty free products. If you have specific requests regarding makeup, please contact prior to booking to ensure we can accommodate.
Cleaning
All equipment is cleaned after each use thoroughly using FDA approved makeup cleaning products and isopropyl alcohol for sanitizing. Metal tools such as tweezers are soaked in barbicide.
Longevity/ maintaining your makeup
Please follow any guidance from your artist regarding your makeup. This will help your look last as long as possible. Please note many factors can affect makeup such as hot weather, water activities, skin conditions, hormones, as well as many others. Your MUA will advise you regarding aftercare to maintain your look for as long as possible.
Health & Safety
Injuries/ accidents
Please be cautious when approaching the artists station as hot styling tools and sharps such as tweezers and scissors may be in use. Trailing wires from lights, the directors chair etc. The artist will set up in the most ideal spot that is less likely to obstruct and likely has access to sunlight and power. If you are able to, please provide adequate workspace for the artist.
Clothing
Wear loose clothing that can either button up or wrap as a dressing gown. Please avoid clothing that needs to be pulled over your head as this could affect your makeup and/or hairstyle. If you have an outfit that needs to go over your head, please inform your artist prior to your appointment so we can provide a cape to protect clothing from products.
Health conditions
It is your responsibility to inform us of any health conditions prior to your appointment. Please note that aerosols such as hair sprays may be used throughout your appointment. We use ring lights throughout the appointment which may be bright and affect clients with eyesight issues or in some instances those with epilepsy.
Hair
Our artist will use the most suitable tools and products to ensure your needs are met, putting your hairs condition as a priority. If the hair is unsuitable to achieve the style ie: excessive heat/ bleach damage, the artist will make a decision at their discretion and suggest an alternative. For this reason, we recommend booking a trial.
Children
All children must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult. Please do not leave your child unattended with the artist as they cannot be held responsible. Children must be kept away from the station at all times unless invited into the chair for a service. Hot tools and sharp objects are used throughout. Please take caution regarding children's safety and wellbeing.
Animals
All animals and pets must be kept well away from the artists work space to avoid damage, injury and contamination.
Allergies and skin conditions
If you have any skin concerns regarding makeup, skin prep or skin care, please inform us upon booking so we can accommodate. While we have high knowledge of our products, we cannot guarantee every single ingredient in each product without checking.
Cross contamination
Great care has been taken to always ensure a safe and clean environment. The artist will decant products and use disposable tools when necessary. We adopt a 1 per person policy when sponges with thorough brush cleaning in between clients using a 3-step cleanse. Please avoid touching any products or tools during the appointment. Do not apply any makeup yourself unless instructed by the artist.
If you have any health concerns regarding illness or infection such as cold sores or styes, your service may be limited. Please contact us prior to your appointment so our artist can find a solution.
Should any items become contaminated during the service, you will be charged for a replacement product.
Zero tolerance
We operate a zero-tolerance policy regarding the safety and well being of our artist. Please treat them with respect and dignity throughout your appointment. Your artist is there to help you look and feel wonderful. Any abuse toward the artist including physical or verbal will result in immediate termination of your appointment, this includes large group bookings. r text here...

We do not charge deposits for in salon services, however, should you cancel within 7 days' notice or not show up, you will be required to pay upfront for any future appointments.
No shows
If you have an appointment which you can no longer attend, please get in touch at the earliest opportunity. We don't take deposits for in salon services, however if you do not show up or you cancel at last minute, you will be required to pay upfront for any future appointments.
Payment

You can choose to pay on the day or upon booking.

Our artist will use the most suitable tools and products to ensure your needs are met, putting your hairs condition as a priority. If the hair is unsuitable to achieve the style ie: excessive heat/ bleach damage, the artist will make a decision at their discretion and suggest an alternative. For this reason, we recommend booking a trial if you are a bride.
Head lice
We understand it's not ideal, however in the unfortunate case where head lice or eggs are found in the hair during a service, treatment will be stopped to avoid contamination. Please do not feel embarrassed should this occur, our team will offer total discretion, advice on treatment and reschedule your appointment for another date.
Children
All children must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult. Please do not leave your child unattended in the salon at any time. Children must be kept away from the stations at all times unless invited into the chair for a service. Hot tools and sharp objects are used throughout. Please take caution regarding children's safety and wellbeing when visiting the salon.
Animals
Animals are not permitted in the salon, with the exception for guide dogs.
